BARAKA Church of Christ
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
I hope you are doing well in the Lord and continuing to be faithful to Christ and His commands. It has been over a month since I reported of some good work happening here for the sake of the Lord but also appreciate your often prayers and thoughts towards our evangelistic efforts and the Lord’s Church in Kenya. I have seen it good to share with you part of our work and pictures of the good work of the Lord happening here. Those who are laboring for Christ here are many and can’t report all the work but appreciate your continued prayers especially through the difficult situations, challenges and struggles that these faithful men of God are going through in the working of teaching and preaching the gospel and the doctrine of the commandments of God in this other Part of the Father’s world. We also continue to appreciate your thoughts and prayers towards the faithful saints and that those we reach out to with the gospel will soften their hearts to respond positively and obey the gospel.
We have been able by God’s power to preach the gospel to some in the congregation of Baraka and 3 souls obeyed the gospel, two in March 28th and 1 in April 17th. We were able to complete their faith in Christ through baptism. Their names are: Winny, Elvis and Esther. Both have received the Swahili bible except Esther. We appreciate your prayers towards their growth in Christ and in His word.
On Friday 8th April, we had a good meeting at Soweto church of Christ in Mumias with a profitable time of scripture study and mutual encouragement in the Lord. In my previous meeting with the preacher there, he requests continued prayers for the congregation and a number of 15 widows in that congregation that are going through a difficult economic situation and some whom are staying with orphan children as is the case in some other congregations we work with. Brother Emmanuel is doing a great work of encouraging and edifying the souls at Soweto congregation in the Lord and it gives us joy especially my father who visits them quite often than I do and other gospel preachers to encourage not only these congregation but some more we have been able to plant and restore through God’s help.
On Saturday 9th April, we visited a family of one of our family at Simenya area in Siaya County, we had good time together and a good bible class study, of which they were happy to listen to the teachings we had of The One True Church. We promised them that the second trip of visit to be together, one of the family promised to give one room at his home to be part of people for Sunday services, we request you to remember this through prayers. It gives us joy as well through the sacrifice of others as in the case of the Philippian Church to apostle Paul, in standing with the work of the gospel.
On the 30th day of April 2022 we had a bible class and discussion at Ibokolo church of Christ where we had two teachers who took their lessons of the day. The classes went on well and successful and every one was vibrant in asking and discussing as we kept on the idea of scripture alone to give answers in respond to the questions. Usually, others from other groups are invited to attend the studies, who hold on the idea that scriptures and some other sources gives them the authority they need in Christianity. We are grateful that we have such great opportunities to come together with people of different beliefs and through God’s help, in humility and love help them to see the way for Christ and know the truth, with the Bible as our authority in Christianity. It is through spending time together and reasoning with them from the scriptures that they come to understand that for us to know the will of God, we must hold on the idea that the Bible is all sufficient. We also appreciate your prayers as we come through such situations.
On the 1st day of May 2022 after the church service at Butere, my father and afew brothers visited Soweto church of Christ in Mumias. They had an afternoon bible class with the congregants which they enjoyed so much. Besides the studies, two aged women got restored after their souls were touched with the days teaching and are members of Christ’s body who meet at that congregation.
On 1st May 2022 one of our preachers at Ematawa had a bible class with the congregation there which is small group and after the lessons, 12 souls obeyed the gospel and made a decision to be baptized for forgiveness of sins and were added to Christ’s Church. Their names are as follows; -
1. Lucky Shihonjera
2. Jacklyne Mwelema
3. Everlyne Auma
4. Margaret Nyende
5. Britone Ong’ale
6. Fridah Maloba
7. Taglas Kecha
8. Everlyne Chibole
9. Gloria Anyangu
10. Philis Ong’ale
11. Melvin Okutoyi

They are all under the C/o of Emmanuel Linani/Caroline and all are requesting Kiswahili study bibles. Remember the souls in prayers for their new birth to be strengthened in the kingdom of God for blessing, faith and peace to eternity.
I have seen it good to share these good works of our Lord, which I believe that we both share the same faith in Christ Jesus. I continue to remember daily in my prayers, brethren and the leadership at the Lord’s Church you attend there, those who labor in the work of the gospel, and those that have not obeyed the gospel that as it gets preached to them, that their hearts will get softened to see the goodness and blessedness of living in Christ. We believe that this is a treasure that others can also have and that we should share it with them. Please, kindly remember us in your daily prayers and that of the congregation that we continue to be daily bible students in keeping studying God’s word to make sure that our teaching is biblically accurate. We also continue to appreciate your daily thoughts and prayers especially with the pressing needs of the saints, the Church and faithful men we work with here and their evangelistic efforts. Your good works in supporting the gospel in whichever way you can through prayers, financial assistance, bible studies etc. is a great reward for you in Heaven, which is our eternal home that we hope to live with our elderly brother, Jesus Christ and in God’s presence. I can’t stop imagining how happy and beautiful heaven must be! We also wish and pray for you blessings from our great Father in your good works, generosity, kindness especially when you learn of the much difficulties we are going through here and your kind hearts to think of us. That not only, encourages me but many others that are touched through your generous heart to learn of the loving saints and to see the hope we both have in Christ Jesus, Galatians (6:9-10).
God Bless you and we send our best wishes to you, family and the saints that meet to worship the Lord at the Church there.
